| I've been waiting for this day for a few weeks now.... I saw the counter get close, and well, it just broke 1000! Which makes me quite happy. Quite the milestone, I'd say. Thanks to everyone who's signed the guestbook, it's the one thing that makes it all worth it. :)
Other than that good news, I'm still kinda looking for some people to translate stuff. If you know Norwegian, or any of the languages similiar enough to Norwegian to be able to translate, and you want to help, check out the forums. I'm kinda looking for people that would stick around for more than a few days, and well, I don't care if you only put new updates up once every 2 weeks it's better than never coming back... Which seems to have happened for almost all the translators (well, except for a few good ones).
Once again though, thanks for the guestbook entries, and keep up the love for Nemi! =D |

| The About page finally has the history of the site that I wanted to post up a while ago. I even included a picture of the old text site, which probably not that many people saw.
Also, the Staff page has been updated so that you can see all the people who helped Translate the comics, including the new people who are working on the Translation Database. If anyone was wondering, right now, I don't think I need anymore translators, but it depends on how frequent the translations will be...
Oh also, I removed the "Mark Quotes as Sux", because someone abused the feature. Either way, that person has been banned from the site.
Oh, and if you haven't registered in the Forums yet, please do so! We really need more people, it's finally starting to pick up again... |

| I know people still come here, and in order for everyone to enjoy Nemi regularly, I need people to help out, or even just talk a bit.
Do what you can for the Nemi Fan Community by talking in the Forums or submitting comics through the database if you know Norwegian!
Sorry, I'm just sad at seeing nothing in the new forums, when at one point the old forums were active. Maybe everyone thinks the site never got a new legal way of translating comics, and might come back to see the next set of 5 every 3 months, but I'm impatient... I worked hard to make the new forums work well, and to make the Translation Database work... Please make it worthwhile. =/ |

| After 2 years I finally make major changes to the site! I hope everyone enjoys it! Right now there are +40 translations up, and since we don't actually have the images, and we link to the Spray.no site (not the image itself), everything should be fine. More English Nemi for all!
Also, be sure to stop by the forum, right now it's totally empty and quiet, we need some talking in there! =) |

| I've been having a very very busy life, with a lot of work so I haven't had time to work on the site too much. But things have slowed down a bit, and I was able to put in about 2 hours of work.... Hopefully everything will be ready at the end of this week, but I don't really want to promise anything (since the last time I promised it would be done soon was over a month ago now)....
But this time I'm pretty sure it will happen rather soon!
Oh also, I totally forgot, but this site has been around for 2 years now! It's amazing how fast time flies, and how little my love for Nemi has changed. =) |

| The things I have planned are almost ready, atleast, the translation database. It's about 90% done, I still need to modify the code a bit to make it perfect. The look needs to be improved a bit, too.
The forum hasn't even been looked at, yet. I don't expect myself to finish within this week, as things have come up, but be sure to check back for more updates! =) |

| Sometime in the next week, there will be a few major updates, to keep this site fresh even with only being allowed to have 5 comics on here at a time.
1: New Forum. The forum we have now has problems with threads with more than 40 posts, so I'm going to move it to a better forum. I'm going to try and also migrate the threads, but I have no guarantees.
2: Comic translations system. What this will be, is people that want to translate a comic strip from the official site will be able to post the translation, with a link underneath to the official site with the strip. People will be able to rate each strips, and you'll be able to see the top 100 strips (once we have that many translated), and you'll have the ability to search through them, also.
Both things can be done in a couple hours time, so hopefully over the weekend I'll have a few free hours to do so. If not, during next week I'll definitely have it set up. So get ready for some awesome updates! =) |

Since we aren't posting the comics here, and she is simply putting the translations up, it's not infringing on any copyright laws. | They'll be taken down after they've been up for 3 months, and replaced with a different set of 5. Long story:
Since you are allowed to have 5 different comics on the site at a time every 3 months, we will be rotating comics, adding 5 to view for 3 months, then replacing them with another 5. The date when the comics will be on are in Month/Year format, so as you can see, there are enough comics to last well into the year 2011! Check back every 3 months to see new ones.

| Lise Myhre has agreed to do an interview for us, so I was thinking of organizing an interview where all of you can give your input into questions... If you have any questions you would really want to ask, either email it to me (Yheti) or post it in the Forums. When I think I have a lot to choose from, I'll post them all on the site and will ask everyone to pick their favorite questions... I'll eventually compile a list of the questions, and I'll forward it to Lise. Hopefully we can have a good interview by Friday, which will give us all something interesting to read. :)
As for the actual Nemi comics, there is a possibility we can get English translations on the official site! I don't want to be too optimistic right away, but right now anything is possible. English Nemi fans, don't worry just yet! :) |

| Today I received an email from Lise Myhre herself, and (very nicely I might add) asked me to remove the comics... I can understand the points she gave in the email, and really I can't blame her, infact, I would do the same if I had a comic myself.
However, maybe we can work something out to keep everyone happy. I replied to her email, and hopefully we can figure something out to make everyone happy. I'm hoping maybe we can get Nemi on the official site in English, or something like that.... We'll see. I'll probably organize the 5 comics that I can post later this weekend. And be sure to come back to see what will happen... I'll update this as soon as I get a reply from Lise.
Also, Lise thanks everyone for all the great comments in the guestbook, she really does appreciate it. :) |

| Server:
Old motherboard working fine, finally fixed the problem that I had with the Network Interface Card. It's almost totally ready, all I need is a better power supply (this Friday I hope) and a case fan at the back.
Comics:
No progress yet, but I promise I will do it soon... I've seriously been busy all week, I went to a concert on Monday, and been playing around with the server every other day since then... But I really will have them soon, hehe. |

I may run into problems when I get the new motherboard, so I don't want to have to make a huge hassle out of it... Either way, no new comics, sorry, I'll try to get those done this week. | I am buying a new server tomorrow, so there may be a downtime. I don't know if there will be for sure, but I'll definitely try to make things as smooth as possible. The transition will probably happen sometime at 6pm PST if everything goes my way (lets hope it does!). The new server will be great, the forums will load faster and overall I think everything will be a bit quicker. If you're wondering, the server will be a Pentium 4 2.6 Ghz with 1 gigabyte of RAM. To really see the difference, right now, the server is running on a Pentium 1 200 Mhz with 64 megabytes of RAM, so it's definitely a huge step up!
Either way, I'll probably turn the guestbook/forum off sometime before I update, just to make sure I don't miss any entries or posts... So please bare with me, and come back to sign the guestbook if it's down when you want to sign it. =)
Also, if you were wondering, Freya has translated a new bunch of comics, I haven't had time to edit the translations, but hopefully they will be up sometime during Sunday. Thanks again to everyone for the great comments. :P |

| Due to the nature of the excellent comments in the Guestbook, I'm going to make myself some free time to translate some more comics! Sadly, I have none left in stock that need translating, so I am looking for someone with some time on their hands. Here are some requirements:
1. Fluent in English and Norwegian
2. Understands the jokes (both in English and Norwegian)
3. Willing to translate +50~ comics
If you have all of those, send an email to the email provided at the "contacts" page. I can tell you the details about how it'll be done in the email, but it's pretty straightforward. And if you do help, your name will ofcourse be put in the "Staff" page. Remember this is non-profit, so don't be expecting anything besides the knowledge that you'll make a lot of people happy! :P
PS: Sorry if the site is slow, I'm not too sure if it is but my connection has been slowed a lot in the past few days... |

| Someone suggested it in the Guestbook, and it got me thinking... "Could I do it?"....
Well, after a LOT of help from a few others, and a bit of tinkering myself, I did it!!! If you've seen most of the comics, the main comic index is a great way to check em out, but now if you're visiting for the first time, you can see the comics easily, by just clicking "next". =)
And signnnnnnn the guestbook!!! Almost at 100 entries! :) |

| There isn't really a lot to report on. I still haven't gotten a reply from the agent, so the comics are still up for now. I told him in my email I would take them down if he wishes, once I got a reply, and that hasn't happened yet, so I dunno what's going on...
Ofcourse, at the same time, he might reply today, tomorrow, etc, so there aren't gonna be any new comic translations until I get a response. There really wouldn't be any point to spend my time translating more comics if they're gonna be taken down the next day. I've thought about starting a petition to keep these comics up, but we'll see how things go.
And in other news, a newspaper from the UK is starting to post official translations of Nemi, ofcourse, these in my opinion are pretty low quality. Not only is it hard to read the text, and the overall image quality very low, but most of the comics somehow lose their value in the translations (me and my translators filtered out comics that lost their value in translation, so we don't have that problem here). "Hi! I write to you on behalf of Lise Myhre's agent. I have seen your page, and I think it looks good. The only problem is that there are certain rules for publishing Lise's comics on a homepage.
The rules are:
1. You are allowed to have 5 strips at a time. These can be changed every 3 months.
2. We need the name, adress and phone number of the person responsible for the page. Send this to haastra@online.no or iblis@nemi.no.
3. We need a statement from you that this is a non-profit homepage. And there has to be a statement printed on the page that it is an unofficial fan site.

Regardless, it looks like the comics will have to be taken down. So, to any English fans, I suggest you read them or download them right away, as they might be gone soon. I have replied asking if there is any compromise we can make, but I don't know if there will be one. I am even willing to give them the translated comics to post on their site, so we'll see how that goes.
Whatever happens, it's definitely been fun, this has been my most successful site of any kind, and the great comments I've received from people have really helped making the time spent translating the comics that much easier to bare.
Hopefully this can have a happy ending, but me being a pessimist, I think it's unlikely... :( |

| Yup, I finally finished the last batch of them. In my last news article I said there were 17 more, but 2 of the comics were very obscure, so I didn't add them. So that means there are no more left to translate.
BUT, this doesn't mean I won't be able to get more. I'll talk to the Head Translator, Mr Lee, and we'll see if he can get anymore. If he can't, there are still other people I can ask. Someone even suggested in the guestbook that they would help out if I needed it, so I just might contact that person. If not, I'll figure something out.... =P
Hehe, I'd like to read some new Nemi comics myself, too. :P I'll post a news article about what's happening in the next few weeks, so we'll see. If anyone else wants to help out, contact me. You will get on the staff page if you do. To translate comics though, I'd like it if you can translate atleast 25 comics, hehe. So if you're thinking about it, just contact me (Yheti) from the contact info on the Staff page. |

| I worked a good 3 hours editing these, hehe. I've had a lot more time these days, so hopefully I can get some more translated later too. Right now I have 17 more left to edit (Mr. Lee, the head translator gave me a large batch to translate, and I'm just finishing it off) so I don't know if there will be anymore left to translate after that. I'll contact him sometime to see if we can, if not we'll see what happens.... Regardless, I marked the ones that are new so for returning visitors it should be easier to check out which ones you missed... ;)

| This means that you can't just take a comic off the site and post it on some other site without uploading it to your own server. I looked at my logs today, and found that the comics were posted on atleast 5 different message boards around the net. Personally, this didn't bother me much, except the fact that the person posting it never even left a link to this site, so no one came to my site.
Now ok, they said some good stuff about my site and how I put together an English version of Nemi, but it's kinda pushing it when you don't even post a link. The only reason this even bothers me is because I like reading guestbook entries. I don't make any money off this site (or any of my other sites for that matter) yet I put up these things for everyone's enjoyment. The only thing I get in return is some good comments in the guestbook. When people just steal the bandwidth, without even giving me a chance to read any of the comments people have, it, to put it bluntly, pisses me off.
I *wouldn't* have turned off hotlinking of the comics had the people posted a link to the site, or guestbook entries would correlate equally to the amount of people checking out the comics. But, it seems that would be too much to ask. Regardless, the comics are still up, if someone wants to show someone else the comics, maybe just give them the full URL, nemicomics.cjb.net? Or, if you're not going to do that much you can link to the page that has the particular comic on it. Or, better yet, save the image, and put it on your own server, then you can hotlink it.
I hope people will understand, I am really sorry about this, as there are some posts that gave me a bit of credit. Either way, it really does mean a lot to me when someone signs the guestbook, so it'd be nice. All comments are welcome!
Either way, I wouldn't want to end this update in a negative way, so I'll say that I'll try to translate/edit more as soon as possible. I've been quite busy in other areas of my life, so I really don't know how many will be put up or when it will happen exactly, but it will, I promise you that much... By the way, thanks to all the people that *have* signed the guestbook. :) |

| | Well, with the help of Hangar18 I've put up a page about Lise Myhre, the writer and artist of the Nemi comics... It's an interesting read, has some interesting ideas, and if you want to see what point of view the comics are brought from, you should definately check it out... =) Also, made a few small changes here and there, the biggest change today besides the creator page being updated is the new feature of the menu, now when ya put the mouse over it glows... Just a small cosmetic update, but hey, makes it easier for you to know which button your mouse is over... ;) |

| And, at the beginning I had a little URL to this site on the comics, but I removed them yesterday. I thought about it, and well, it just ruins the look of the comic strips... If anyone wants to take the translated comics, atleast put a little link saying you got em from here.
